The old Giles Landscapes website was dated in terms of looks and projects, it was content starved and failed to attract the attention of the search engines for the appropriate key terms. The aim of the overhaul was primarily to catch the eye of the search engines but also to refresh their image as contemporary award winning garden designers.

Firstly, we analysed what their competitors were doing, working together to decide what Giles wanted in terms of the look and feel of their website. Next followed a full SEO service to analyse desirable key phrases and identify the best ones for them against their competitors. 

The result was a clean, modern looking website that included vibrant, eye-catching images of the projects they’d worked on. The content was expanded, focused and edited to ensure it read well throughout. Hassle free maintenance is always important so we installed a content management system which allowed them to upload images to their portfolio quick and easily without costing a penny!

Roger Giles, Director of Giles Landscapes says, “Our old website suffered from being tinkered with by too many in-house ‘designers’. The result was that it became very difficult to navigate.

The new website has made life much more straight forward. Feedback from visitors to the site is that it’s simple to use, very customer friendly and that they’re getting the information they want quickly. I was surprised to notice these encouraging comments coming in as soon as the site was launched. As far as administration is concerned, the content management system means we can upload images and new information in a flash, it’s really easy.

There’s been an obvious improvement as far as traffic is concerned, we’re really pleased. The quality of that traffic has improved and we’re regularly being approached to do more top end work. As far as a % increase is concerned 62% of new private client leads came from the website.

We kept our old keywords and took on a few new ones too. The keywords are taking us to the first page of Google which is great. Overall, it’s been a really good experience. Obviously, getting the most out of a website is an ongoing process but we’re really pleased with the results so far”.
