e-Business
Most businesses in the UK today need to have an effective internet presence.
If you currently own a business that has a website do you know:
- how many website visitors you have?
- how many of those visitors become customers?
- how you could improve your site?
- why your site cannot be found on search engines?
- how to get your customers to your site
Xanthos can help you answer these questions,
Business on the internet is classified in 2 categories:
- Business to business – known as B2B
- Business to consumer – known as B2C
Both B2B and B2C businesses can do e-commerce - please see our e-commerce section.
We have worked with businesses in both areas.
The purpose of your B2B website is likely to fall into one or more of the following areas:
- Generate leads
- Sell products to your customers
- Improve your service to your customers
Inevitably if you are a medium-sized or larger business you could also use your website to improve communication with your customers. You can also use your website to share confidential information with customers and/or your staff.
Here are some B2B businesses we have worked with to leverage their internet presence.
Example 1 - C4Carbides
Background
A medium sized industrial business selling products to large OEMs
Challenges
C4 Carbides had no website statistics and were unable to identify any leads generated for their business by their website. The website was old and needed updating and they had no way of updating content themselves.
The look and feel of their website did not represent the quality of the product they were selling. They identified that a new website would be a launching pad for their new marketing plan they had devised.
Solution
Xanthos developed an internet strategy for C4 Carbides that included the following:
- Redesign of the site to reflect the quality of the products
- An application area that would allow them to educate their customers as to the use of their products
- An interactive product finder that would enable customers to work out which product would be suited for their problem
- A product showcase providing information on each product with technical specifications available for download
- Streaming video to show the effectiveness of their products against competing products
- Search engine optimisation to ensure that they were found on search engines for relevant product terms
- Email marketing so they could target market their customers
Xanthos then designed, built and delivered the solution for C4 Carbides.
